Nyemba is a traditional Malawian dry bean, this is the dry bean of choice for most of rural Malawi. Strong bean plants with a great tolerance for dryland cultivation.

Also locally know as the Red Stewing bean, which gives you a direct insight as to what these beans are commonly used for.

Deep maroon beans that keep their color once cooked, this is a well known trait of these beans and is considered by Malawians to be a critical test when cooking these beans. Anything else is just not worthy.
